Web App 8.3.0, iOS 3.9.7 and Android 3.9.0 Release

With the holiday season upon us, we are excited to announce new features and enhancements in our latest release of the Field Squared Platform (Web App and Mobile App). Our December release includes enhancements from you, our customers, as well as new features and fixes to ensure you get the most out of Field Squared.

Some of the newest features include updates to status options, filtering capabilities across Asset types, inactivity security settings, and more. Through these enhancements, you can further improve managing your end-to-end field service operations with Field Squared.

Web App

The latest Web App and API release covers new features, a few fixes, and improvements to behind the scenes functionality. Below are a few highlights.

Tasks
The latest release includes a few enhancements to labor items. Now you can:

  • When linking a Task to an Asset, you now have the ability to filter by Asset types
  • New option to log initial status event on Task creation
  • New option to inherit Asset and Contact teams onto a Task
  • Auto-Update option on Task name expressions

Statuses:

  • Hide disabled status options
  • Hide status options using conditional expressions
  • Lock a Task on a specified status press
  • Open a form/document on a status click
  • Add required custom fields on status press (see image below)

Reports:

  • Ability to create Excel Workbooks from Reports (see image below)
  • Access custom HTML pdfs from our public API​

Security:

  • Log users out after inactivity, where you set the parameters such as minutes/hours​

We also made miscellaneous fixes to exterminate any bugs.

iOS Mobile App

The team has made a few notable enhancements to the Field Squared iOS Mobile App, including visual, user interface improvements to help field workers better see certain buttons on smaller screens.

NEW: Schedule Grid on Tasks
Field workers now have the ability to show the schedule grid on Tasks within the iOS mobile app.

Tasks:

  • New option to log initial status event on Task creation
  • New option to inherit Asset and Contact teams onto a Task
  • Auto-Update option on Task name expressions

Statuses:

  • Hide disabled status options
  • Hide status options using conditional expressions
  • Lock a Task on a specified status press
  • Open a form/document on a status click
  • Add required custom fields on status press (see image below)

Additional Updates:

  • Improved load time for the initial document sync on time series documents
  • Visual improvements on buttons and smaller screens to make them easier to see
  • Improved handling of offline photo uploads
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes

Android Mobile App

This release of our Android Mobile Application does not include these two features: Auto-update for Task fields and custom fields in transition messages. These features will be available in the next release.
